Lamine Yamal has shared his dismay at being ruled out for the remainder of the football season due to a hamstring injury, stating that his inability to support his teammates from the pitch leaves him feeling "hurt."

The 18-year-old attacker, a crucial player for FC Barcelona throughout the current campaign, posted an emotional message to his supporters on Instagram following the diagnosis of his injury.

Yamal suffered the injury during Barcelona's 1-0 victory against Celta Vigo on Wednesday night. He was substituted immediately after scoring the winning goal and left the field heading directly for the tunnel, sparking immediate concerns about the severity of the problem.

Subsequent medical assessments confirmed a hamstring issue that necessitates his absence for the rest of the season. The club stated, "There were fears initially, but it’s now confirmed to be a hamstring injury," while also clarifying there are no long-term concerns that would affect future major tournaments.

Despite Barcelona holding a significant nine-point lead at the top of La Liga over rivals Real Madrid, with a crucial El Clásico encounter still on the horizon, Yamal expressed confidence in his team's ability to secure the title.

"This injury has sidelined me at the exact moment I most wanted to be there, and it hurts more than words can say," Yamal wrote in his message. "It hurts not being able to fight alongside my teammates, not being able to help when the team needs me. But I believe in them and I know they’ll give their all in every match."

The young player also indicated that he will continue to offer his support to the squad from the sidelines and is already setting his sights on a stronger return next season.

"I’ll be there, even if it’s from the sidelines, supporting, cheering, and pushing them on like any other fan. This isn’t the end, it’s just a pause. I’ll come back stronger, more eager than ever, and next season will be even better."

Yamal has been one of Barcelona's most impactful players this season, featuring in 40 matches, the fourth-highest in the squad. He has scored 24 goals, including 16 in La Liga, and provided 18 assists across all competitions.
