Lamine Yamal marked his 100th appearance for Barcelona with a decisive performance, contributing one goal and two assists to secure a convincing 4-1 win against Espanyol in the Catalan derby.
The prodigious winger, who achieved this milestone at just 18 years and 272 days old, becoming the club's youngest centurion, was instrumental in the match.
Ferran Torres netted a brace in the first half, with Yamal providing the assists for both goals. Yamal then added his name to the scoresheet late in the game, followed by a fourth goal from Marcus Rashford, which nullified Pol Lozano's earlier strike for Espanyol.
Barcelona established an early lead when Torres headed home a corner delivered by Yamal in the ninth minute. The former Manchester City forward extended the advantage in the 25th minute, converting a precise finish from a Yamal assist, executed with a rabona.
Espanyol found a way back into the game when Lozano scored with a powerful shot, temporarily shifting the momentum. However, Yamal restored calm for Barcelona by tapping into an empty net in the 87th minute, and Rashford sealed the victory with the team's fourth goal two minutes later.
With this victory, Barcelona accumulated 79 points from 31 league fixtures. They have now widened their lead over second-placed Real Madrid to nine points with only seven matches remaining in the season, placing them in a strong position to retain their league title.
