Liam Rosenior Threatens Disciplinary Actions Following Chelsea's Loss to Arsenal

Liam Rosenior, the manager of Chelsea FC, has cautioned his players about the possibility of being dropped for their misconduct following another disappointing match, which resulted in a 2-1 defeat against Arsenal last Sunday.

The match saw Pedro Neto receive a red card during the second half, contributing to Chelsea's season total of nine red cards across all competitions, a staggering figure compared to their rivals.

Several players, including Marc Cucurella, Joao Pedro, and Moises Caicedo, have faced red cards this season, with Chelsea having accumulated more dismissals than any other team in the English Premier League.

As Chelsea anticipates a critical showdown against Aston Villa this week, Rosenior emphasized the need for his squad to take greater accountability for their actions.

In a press briefing prior to the match on Monday, he remarked, "It needs to improve. My responsibility is to foster a culture of accountability. If a mistake is made, acknowledging it is crucial to ensure it does not reoccur."

He further added, "If I err in my selection or make a misjudgment, I must also be accountable, and the same principle applies to the players."

Neto's recent send-off followed a similar incident a week earlier when his teammate Wesley Fofana was dismissed during a 1-1 draw against Burnley.

Rosenior noted, "While teammates can support each other, ultimately, it’s an individual responsibility. Pedro has expressed his regrets to the team. We will feel his absence on Wednesday."

He reiterated the need for improved behavior across the team, stating, "It's not only about Pedro. We have faced unnecessary bookings due to fouls. To enhance our performance and achieve our objectives, we must actively work to prevent such occurrences."

With ten Premier League matches remaining this season, Chelsea is focused on securing a top-five finish, which would likely qualify them for a spot in the upcoming Champions League.
