The First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, is scheduled to preside over a UN Security Council meeting next week, as announced by her office. This will mark the inaugural occasion of a sitting First Lady managing such a session.
According to a statement released on Wednesday, "First Lady Melania Trump is set to make history at the United Nations, taking the gavel as the United States assumes the Security Council Presidency to emphasize education’s role in advancing tolerance and world peace."
The meeting is set to occur at 3:00 PM (2000 GMT) on Monday and will concentrate on themes of education, technology, peace, and security, marking “the first time a sitting US First Lady presides over the Security Council,” the statement further noted.
Recently, Melania Trump was seen at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), where she participated in ringing the opening bell on January 28, 2026, in New York City.
Her appearance comes as part of her promotional efforts for the film, “Melania,” which chronicles her life in the 20 days leading up to President Donald Trump’s second inauguration.
