Michelle Obama, the former First Lady of the United States, has shared her insights with women about the importance of caution when contemplating moving in with a partner too soon in a relationship.

During her appearance on the IMO podcast, Michelle stressed that having ample time and exercising patience are crucial before taking this significant step.

Michelle Obama speaking on a podcast about relationship advice.

She stated, “If it’s early in a relationship, you shouldn’t be moving in. I don’t care how much money he has, you do not know him yet!”

Additionally, she pointed out that rushing into cohabitation could lead to unintended consequences.

“What will you do if you find out that he lied about something or is different from who you thought he was after moving in together? Moving in early is almost like signing a contract — you’re in for it. Why would you even consider that so soon?” she questioned.

Michelle further advised couples to invest more time in truly getting to know each other.

“I think you should wait for a couple of years because you barely know him. Get to know each other a few more years before considering moving in together,” she recommended.
