UFC heavyweight Mohammed Usman has been handed a suspension lasting 30 months following a positive test for prohibited substances, as revealed by the Combat Sports Anti-Doping agency on Thursday.
Usman, younger brother of former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, was found to have testosterone in his system during an out-of-competition test carried out in September. This positive result resulted in his disqualification from a fight scheduled against Valter Walker.
As reported by CSAD, the 36-year-old later confessed to the intentional use of testosterone as well as the banned peptide BPC-157. The agency indicated that Usman initially provided misleading accounts during the investigation, prompting them to extend the typical two-year ban associated with testosterone to a total of 30 months.
The suspension is applicable retroactively from October 9, 2025, and is set to end on April 9, 2028. Training out of Florida, Usman participated in “The Ultimate Fighter” and currently maintains a UFC record of 4 wins and 3 losses.
