Moses Simon, a winger for the Super Eagles, marked a significant achievement on Sunday by completing his 200th appearance in Ligue 1 during a match that saw Paris FC hold RC Strasbourg to a goalless draw.

In this encounter on Matchday 26, Simon started and played for 64 minutes before being substituted for Luca Koleosho, as both teams struggled to break the deadlock.

The match unfolded at a brisk pace but lacked clear goal-scoring opportunities, quickly turning into a contest dominated by midfield play, with neither side able to claim sustained control.

Paris FC sought to take the initiative early, pushing forward to create chances, but struggled to breach Strasbourg's well-organized defense.

Operating primarily from the wing, Simon played a key role in facilitating attacks and maintaining pressure for his team. Although he did not record a shot on target, his influence was notable throughout the game. His performance was statistically sound, completing 15 of 16 passes with 33 touches before he exited the field in the second half, enabling the team to introduce fresh attacking players.

Simon's 200th appearance is a testament to his steadfastness and persistence in French football since his arrival in the league. Having joined Paris FC from FC Nantes on July 1, 2025, he brought a wealth of experience with him. During this season, he has participated in 23 league matches for the team, netting three goals as a pivotal element of their attacking strategy.

Before joining Paris FC, Simon built his reputation over six years with Nantes, emerging as one of the club's most effective offensive players. Initially joining on loan in 2019, he quickly made his stay permanent and became instrumental in the team's attacking dynamics.

Throughout his six seasons at Nantes, Simon made 177 appearances in Ligue 1, scoring 33 goals and providing 38 assists. His tenure also included domestic trophies, playing a pivotal role in Nantes' victory in the Coupe de France in 2022 while also reaching the final the following year.

In addition to his club success, Simon has been an essential member of the Nigeria national football team since his debut on March 25, 2015. Over the years, he has become one of the Super Eagles' most experienced players, earning over 90 caps and scoring 10 goals, delivering speed, creativity, and balance to the national squad.

Achieving 200 matches in Ligue 1 not only reflects a significant personal accomplishment but also highlights Simon's adaptability and his impactful career across both club and international football.
