Nasarawa Amazons decisively defeated FC Robo from Lagos with a scoreline of 4-2 during the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Week 9 match held at the Lafia Township Stadium on Wednesday.
Sunday Ohunene opened the scoring just two minutes into the game, taking advantage of a precise cross delivered by Ayatsea Hembafan. However, FC Robo quickly equalized in the 14th minute with a goal from Iortyom Joy, only for Hembafan to regain the lead from the penalty spot in the 17th minute.
The Amazons continued to assert their dominance and extended their lead when Alani Jumoke netted the third goal in the 40th minute. Odoh Bibiana later added to the tally in the 46th minute, bringing the score to 4-1. Rafi’u Tossy managed to score a late consolation goal for FC Robo in the 76th minute, finalizing the match at 4-2 in favor of the Amazons.
