On Sunday, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reported the recovery of 627.7 kilograms of skunk, a powerful cannabis strain, during an operation at a makeshift warehouse in Kubwa, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Femi Babafemi, the spokesperson for the agency, noted that efforts to transport methamphetamine from Enugu to both Abuja and Kaduna were also intercepted by operatives in Abuja on Friday.

The methamphetamine was found hidden within MP3 speakers.

Babafemi explained that the drugs were apprehended in a commercial bus, and a further operation in Zuba, FCT, resulted in the arrest of Ebube Okeke, believed to be the owner of one of the parcels containing 173 grams of meth.

On the following Saturday, three individuals—Evans Ugwu, Mohammed Eze Arinze, and Friday Michael—were arrested in Kaduna as they attempted to retrieve an additional consignment weighing 28 grams of the same drug.
