Midfielder N’Golo Kanté has finalized a transfer to Fenerbahçe, marking the end of his stay at Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad.
The contract was confirmed after Kanté's termination of his agreement with Al Ittihad, allowing for a new chapter in Istanbul.
As noted by Fabrizio Romano, Fenerbahçe has announced that the ex-Chelsea and Leicester City player has secured a deal that will bind him to the club until June 2028.
Initially, the transfer encountered delays related to documentation, but both clubs received the necessary approvals from FIFA after examining the required paperwork. This official clearance from the governing body of football enabled the transaction to successfully proceed.
Insiders close to the discussions revealed that Kanté was determined to join Fenerbahçe, turning down interest from other clubs. Now at 33, he is anticipated to add experience, leadership, and stability to Fenerbahçe’s midfield as the team aims for success in both domestic and European competitions.
An official announcement from the club is expected soon as Kanté prepares to meet his new teammates before upcoming matches.
