Samuel Chukwueze, a winger for the Super Eagles, is mourning the death of his mother.
The distressing news was shared on Thursday by his brother, David Chukwueze, through poignant posts on Instagram.
“I can’t even post say RIP mom,” he expressed on his Instagram story.
He also added, “My forever love just left me without saying goodbye. You didn’t even carry your grandchild.”
Currently, Chukwueze is on loan from AC Milan, playing for Fulham in the English Premier League.
This tragedy follows the recent passing of Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi's father due to a road accident, leaving the national team engulfed in further sorrow.
Chukwueze recently represented Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where he faced criticism after missing a penalty during their semi- final match against Morocco.
Despite this setback, the 26-year-old has rebounded well, netting a goal for Fulham in his first match after the tournament.
This season, he has achieved a total of three goals and three assists for the London club.
