The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced it is collaborating with security and intelligence agencies to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the demise of a Corps Member, Abdulsamad Jamiu, identified by the service number NS/25A/2904. Jamiu tragically lost his life in the early hours of Sunday, April 26, 2026, during a military operation that took place at Shagari Estate, Dei-Dei, in Abuja.
At the time of the incident, Jamiu was undertaking his national service at Government Junior Secondary School, located in Bakin Ado, Nasarawa State.
The NYSC management, in a released statement, reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety, security, and overall welfare of all Corps Members and its staff across the nation.
According to the statement, the scheme will persist in strengthening its collaborative efforts with relevant security and intelligence bodies. These partnerships are aimed at effectively mitigating risks and enhancing the protection of Corps Members nationwide.
"The NYSC stands in solidarity with the bereaved family during this difficult period and prays for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased,” the statement concluded.
