The Lagos Royal Family has confirmed the death of Otunba Adekunle Ojora, a prominent chief and Olori-ebi, who passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Burial arrangements are expected to be announced soon.

The Lagos Royal Family, representing the lineage of the late Chief (Prince) Abdul Lasisi Ajayi Ojora, has officially announced the passing of HRH Otunba (Dr) Adekunle Ojora OFR, CON, JP. Otunba Ojora, also known as the Otunba of Lagos and Lisa of Ife, died in the early hours of Wednesday, January 28, 2026, according to a family statement.

Born on June 13, 1932, Otunba Ojora occupied several significant traditional positions throughout his life. He was the Chief Olori Omoba of Lagos, headed the Oba Ologunkutere & Oba Adele Ajosun Royal Family, led the Ojora Royal Family, and served as the Head of the Aiyeomosan Chieftaincy Family of Lagos.

In honour of his distinguished lineage and legacy, the family shared his Oriki, an ancestral praise poem: “Omo Ojora Apasa, Omo kekeniju, Omo oyinbo Dudu ni ita iganmu, Omo afomo loko toun ti ele die, Omo olumokun okosho yun, Omo opayun Pade, Omo alowo loko bi oyinbo, Omo ogbe obinrin ta fi owo ra akobi… Omo olowu oduru. Sun re ooooooooo.”
