Additionally, the CP elaborated on the capture of armed robbery suspects in Langtang South, which was facilitated by a Good Samaritan in the vicinity.

Ewah noted that the Divisional Police Officer responded promptly in conjunction with the Armed Robbery Section from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The operation culminated in the recovery of three locally made AK-47 rifles, two home-made revolvers, additional handguns, and imitation firearms believed to have been utilized in various criminal endeavors.

The police chief further attributed the successful arms recovery to actionable intelligence from the community, stating, “We extend our gratitude to our partners and the public for their trust and ongoing information that has facilitated the retrieval of these weapons.”

He assured that the suspects, implicated in being part of kidnapping and banditry operations via their intelligence-sharing activities, would soon face legal proceedings.

Ewah also commended the strong collaboration with the Plateau State Ministry of Justice, particularly noting the role of the Attorney General in ensuring thorough prosecutions of cases, expressing appreciation to the media for helping raise awareness about police initiatives.

Reports from our correspondent indicate that the seized firearms and other evidence were displayed during the press briefing. Ewah assured that the holders of the recovered firearms would be charged appropriately, with the court set to determine the legality of their possession. He concluded by stating that the police remain receptive to public scrutiny and feedback as a means to enhance service delivery.
