Troops operating under the Operation ENDURING PEACE have neutralized three individuals accused of raping and kidnapping a young girl in the Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Captain Joshua Atu John, the Acting Media Information Officer for Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE, shared this information in a statement issued on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
The report stated that upon receiving reports of the incident, the troops swiftly mobilized and pursued the kidnappers.
During the subsequent firefight, three of the suspects, identified as Yusuf Musa, Auwal Adamu, and Kamal Abdul, were neutralized.
The kidnapped girl was successfully rescued, debriefed, and later reunited with her family.
According to the statement, “Troops of the Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE (JTF OPEP) involved in Operation PEACE SHIELD have continuously recorded significant achievements against criminal elements in the Joint Operations Area (JOA).”
Furthermore, the successes highlighted include neutralizing various criminals, rescuing victims of kidnapping, and recovering arms and ammunition. These operations took place on January 13 and 14, 2026.
On January 13, 2026, troops from Sector 7 JTF OPEP acted on credible intelligence regarding the abduction and assault of a girl (name withheld) in Kajim Village, located in the Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Immediately after receiving the alert, the troops mobilized and chased after the kidnappers. Contact was established, and during the clash, they were able to neutralize three suspects named Yusuf Musa, Auwal Adamu, and Kamal Abdul. The girl was rescued, debriefed appropriately, and returned to her family.
On January 14, 2026, troops from Sector 7 JTF OPEP targeted and raided a hideout of armed robbers on the outskirts of Kaura.
“During this operation, the troops encountered the suspects and in a coordinated engagement eliminated four individuals, later identified as Abubakar Ibrahim (35 years), Ibrahim Isa (37 years), Suleiman Auwal (25 years), and Suleiman Tahiru,” the statement elaborated.
In this operation, troops also confiscated a makeshift rifle, five rounds of 7.62 mm (special) ammunition, and two motorcycles belonging to the assailants.
Preliminary investigations have indicated that these suspects were part of a syndicate engaged in kidnappings, armed robbery, and various other violent crimes along the Ganawuri-Manchok route.
