The Sokoto State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has announced the suspension of the entire management team of Sokoto United Football Club for an immediate duration of three months.
This suspension was communicated through an official letter, which was signed by Aminu S. Fada, the Director of Administration within the Ministry, and is dated February 2, 2026.
As per the letter, this suspension applies to all individuals involved in the club’s management, and it will remain enforced for the full three months.
The letter states, "The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development hereby announces the suspension of the entire management of Sokoto United Football Club for a period of three (3) months, effective immediately."
It further indicated that during this suspension, the Ministry would take charge of the club's operations.
"The suspension will run for the stipulated three-month period, during which the Ministry will assume full responsibility for overseeing and managing all affairs of the club, pending further directives," the official communication explained.
Despite the suspension, the Ministry expressed gratitude for the efforts of the affected management members who have contributed to the club's success over the years.
In continuation, the Ministry indicated that updates regarding the situation would be announced as necessary.
"Further updates will be communicated as developments unfold," the statement concluded.
