On February 13, Stefon Diggs made an appearance in court for his arraignment regarding the purported assault of his personal chef, entering a plea of not guilty shortly after taking part in Super Bowl LX.
The 32-year-old footballer appeared at Dedham District Court alongside his legal representation, where he formally pled not guilty to accusations of assaulting his chef in December 2025.
After the brief court session, Mitchell Schuster, part of Diggs' defense team, spoke to the press outside the courthouse, refuting the allegations. "We believe that, upon examining the evidence and facts in this case, he will be fully exonerated," Schuster remarked.
The case originated from claims made by Diggs' personal chef, who stated that during a disagreement regarding payment on December 2, 2025, he allegedly slapped her and attempted to choke her.
According to her statement, the confrontation over the money she felt was owed led to Diggs entering her unlocked bedroom after a text discussion concerning payment, where tensions escalated.
The chef claimed that Diggs lost his temper, slapped her in the face, and then attempted to choke her using his elbow around her neck.
The incident was reported to the authorities on December 16. Although the woman did not provide photographic evidence of any injuries, she indicated that she had redness on her upper chest as a result of the altercation.
A pre-trial hearing is set for April 1, with the court mandating that Diggs refrain from any contact with the alleged victim during the legal proceedings.
