Head Coach Eric Chelle has named a 23-player roster for Nigeria's forthcoming friendly fixtures against Iran and Jordan. The squad features prominent names such as captain Wilfred Ndidi, midfield maestro Alex Iwobi, and forward Ademola Lookman.
The venue for these international matches has undergone a change. Initially set to be held in Amman, Jordan, the games have now been relocated to Antalya, Turkey, following escalating military hostilities in the Middle East.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to face Iran on March 27th, with the match kicking off at 4 pm local time. Subsequently, they will compete against Jordan on March 31st at 8 pm.
Coach Chelle's selection includes other vital players like goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, defender Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, midfielder Frank Onyeka, and attackers Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, Akor Adams, and Paul Onuachu.
Notably, the squad sees a first-time call-up for Scotland-based defender Emmanuel Fernandez. Additionally, Germany-based forward Philip Otele and Belgium-based player Collins Yira Sor, who previously represented Nigeria at the junior level, have been included.
Goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye, currently playing in Greece, has also been recalled to the national team.
These friendly encounters are anticipated to serve as a valuable opportunity for Coach Chelle to evaluate the team's depth and explore various tactical approaches ahead of future competitive matches.
