Operatives of the Airport Police Command have successfully apprehended an individual suspected of stealing valuable equipment from his previous place of work, an IT solutions firm. The suspect, identified as George Ikpe, 28, was taken into custody on April 3rd following a detailed intelligence operation and subsequent investigation.

The spokesperson further stated that a comprehensive review of the company's CCTV recordings clearly showed the suspect's movements, which helped in confirming his identity.

Adeola detailed that the stolen items included two custom-made Vovida Central Processing Units (CPUs), valued at N10,357,000, and a high-end printer estimated at N4,715,000. The combined value of the pilfered items is approximately N15,072,000.

Investigations also led to the recovery of the stolen CPUs, which the suspect disclosed after his arrest. However, the high-value printer had reportedly been sold before his apprehension.

The suspect confessed that he perpetrated the crime as an act of retaliation after his employment with the company was terminated.

ASP Adeola added that the suspect would face charges in a competent court of law once the ongoing investigations are concluded.
