Switch Advisory Conducts PPP Capacity Building Workshop for Katsina Executive Council

Switch Advisory, a prominent advisory firm specializing in the public sector, facilitated a significant Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Appreciation Workshop for members of the Katsina State Executive Council at the Government House in Katsina.

The workshop began with the arrival of the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umaru Radda, who officially inaugurated the event and warmly greeted the Executive Council members and other attendees.

During his opening address, Governor Radda underscored the necessity for effective coordination, leadership, and structured dialogues to enhance governance procedures in the State.

He highlighted his administration's commitment to fortifying Katsina State's PPP framework to advance the planning and execution of development initiatives. According to him, robust PPP structures would boost private sector engagement and investment, particularly within critical sectors, while also fostering sustainable development outcomes. The governor encouraged synergistic efforts among relevant bodies to ensure a smoothly coordinated and effective implementation of PPP strategies.

The first session, titled 'Understanding Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), Their Relevance in State Development, and Executive Leadership and Oversight in PPPs,' was delivered by Chinonso Aluma, Head of Operations at Switch Advisory. This session aimed to deepen executive-level comprehension of PPPs as structured, long-term, performance-oriented agreements for the provision of public infrastructure and services, emphasizing governance, strategic alignment, and value for investment.

Participants were led through the lifecycle of PPP projects, emphasizing the significance of thorough project identification, preparation, and structuring for successful outcomes. The session covered aspects of PPP frameworks, essential success factors, and potential risks, reaffirming the importance of informed executive leadership and strategic decision-making in aligning PPP activities with state development goals and fiscal realities.

The Founder and CEO of Switch Advisory, Mr. Folahan Johnson, praised the Katsina State Government for fostering an environment conducive for PPP ventures. He urged other states to follow suit, particularly in priority development areas.
