The Future Awards Africa (TFAA) has officially launched an initiative called The Future Awards Africa Independent (TFAAi), designed to extend its influence beyond the national framework. TFAAi aims to engage grassroots communities in various states, identifying and uplifting individuals who are making significant contributions in their fields while often lacking adequate visibility or access to major platforms.
With the goal of bringing the ethos of The Future Awards Africa closer to the populace, TFAAi provides a systematic approach for local changemakers to gain the recognition, support, and opportunities they need, ensuring that talents, innovations, and impacts are acknowledged irrespective of geographical limitations.
The inaugural phase will take place in Kano, Abia (Aba), Rivers (Port Harcourt), and Oyo (Ibadan). TFAAi will prioritize programs aimed at delivering impactful outcomes, forming partnerships, and engaging communities in these locations, thereby recognizing and supporting young leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and change agents. Activities will include state- level awards, nominations, mentorship, networking opportunities, and community engagement efforts, all focused on fortifying local communities and cultivating a pipeline for new leaders.
Each state will act as a vital hub, showcasing the unique strengths of the region. In Kano State, the focus will be on youth leadership, entrepreneurship, and community-led innovations in the North; Abia State will promote entrepreneurship and emerging industries in the South-East; Rivers State will emphasize creativity and social innovation in the South-South, while Oyo will highlight excellence in education, culture, enterprise, and young leadership in the South-West.
Commenting on the launch, TFAA Project Lead, Ngozi Chijuka, stated, “The Future Awards Africa Initiative (TFAAi) embodies the next stage in our dedication to highlighting excellence throughout Nigeria and across the continent. With TFAAi, we are deepening our community presence and developing a more inclusive platform to ensure that those effecting significant change in their communities are acknowledged and supported where it matters most — at home. This initiative empowers the subsequent generation of changemakers to flourish.”
TFAAi will function through established state committees and collaborations with local organizations, private sector participants, and community groups, ensuring credibility, transparency, and long-term viability.
The official launch will see initial engagement with stakeholders across the four states, followed by the announcement of nomination periods, program initiatives, and recognition events at the state level.
