The Ogun State Police Command has taken two suspects into custody in connection with the alleged ritual killing of six-year-old Pemisere Bara in the town of Ebute Igboro, located in the Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Reports indicate that the child was reported missing by his father, Bara Kehinde, at the Ebute-Igbooro Police Station. According to the father, Pemisere did not return home after being sent on an errand around 6:40 PM on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Kehinde is said to have raised suspicions about a neighbor, Rebecca Sunday, prompting the police to initiate an investigation. It has emerged that the suspect confessed to having received a “diabolical ring” from an individual named Oluibi Ajibola, claiming that they had reached an agreement where she would receive N150,000 in exchange for providing a child for supposed ritualistic activities.

In response, the police ramped up their efforts in collaboration with local youth in the community, which led to the arrest of Oluibi Ajibola as well.

Oluseyi Babaseyi, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed on Friday that the boy's body was retrieved from the Yewa River in Ebute Igboro, along the Ilaro–Oja-Odan Road. He stated, "Two suspects have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command over the murder of six-year-old Pemisere Bara in Ebute Igboro, Ilaro. The child’s body was recovered from the Yewa River, and the case has been forwarded to the SCID for additional investigation and prosecution."
