Uba Sani emphasized that the upgraded stadium would rank as the second largest in capacity, following the national stadium situated in Abuja.

He praised the National Institute for Sports' Director General for his impressive versatility and leadership, noting that the institute had seen substantial progress since Shuaibu took charge, revitalizing its operations after a period of stagnation.

Reflecting on their shared history in advocating for democracy's restoration in 1999, Uba Sani remarked positively on Shuaibu's accomplishments during his tenure as the Deputy Governor of Edo State.

Earlier, the Director General of NIS emphasized that the institute focuses on enhancing the workforce for the sports sector, which includes training for coaches and medical personnel.

Shuaibu recounted that upon taking office, he initiated steps to reposition the institute by forming a talented team of 32 members.

He explained that this team developed a comprehensive 10-year action plan, engaged in training programs, and established six zonal offices to streamline operations.

The North West zonal office is set to be based in Kaduna, while the North East and North Central offices will be located in Yola and Jos, respectively.

Furthermore, the South South zonal office will be established in Benin, with the South East and South West offices located in Enugu and Abeokuta, respectively.

Shuaibu expressed his gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for his commitment to providing a fully furnished office for the newly established North West zonal office.
