A university student in Uganda has been hospitalised following injuries sustained while embodying Jesus Christ in a Good Friday procession. Dennis Zziwa, a second-year law student at Kampala International University, experienced harm during the dramatic reenactment at Our Lady of Africa Church in Mbuya.

The actor playing Jesus sustained the injuries as part of the intense portrayal of the Way of the Cross events. Following the procession, Zziwa received immediate first aid from responders affiliated with the Red Cross. He was subsequently transported to Lamone Health Center in Luzira for further medical evaluation and treatment.

The event, which depicted a significant religious observance, saw the student requiring medical intervention due to the physical nature of the performance.
