The United States Embassy in Jerusalem has released an advisory instructing American citizens to make their own security plans as tensions rise following attacks from the US and Israel against Iran, which have resulted in Iranian retaliation across the broader Middle East region.

On Monday, the embassy stated its incapacity to facilitate any departures from Israel and recommended that its staff and their families find safe shelter near their homes.

The statement emphasized the precarious and unpredictable security conditions in the region, advising Americans who remain in Israel to remain vigilant and continue to organize for their personal safety.

"The US Embassy is not in a position at this time to evacuate or directly assist Americans in departing Israel," the advisory confirmed.

Amid the ongoing tension, the embassy cautioned that the security landscape is evolving, suggesting possible additional movement restrictions for US government employees as conflicts intensify.

Citizens were reminded of the importance of maintaining awareness of their surroundings and familiarizing themselves with the nearest shelter locations in the event of alerts, as security threats, including artillery, rocket, and missile attacks, can occur without warning.

The embassy added that any travel restrictions could impact movements to specific areas in Israel, including the Old City of Jerusalem and the West Bank.

In terms of travel logistics, the embassy provided information indicating that the Israeli Ministry of Tourism has initiated shuttle services to particular locations like the Taba Border Crossing. Travelers wishing to reach Jordan can take the shuttle to Eilat and then proceed on their own by taxi to the Yitzhak Rabin Border Crossing. The buses will be stationed in various meeting points across Israel, including at train station parking lots in Herzliya.

However, the embassy noted that it could not ensure the safety of the shuttles offered by the Ministry of Tourism. They added, "The US Embassy cannot make any recommendations about the Ministry of Tourism’s shuttle. If you choose to use this option to leave, the US government cannot guarantee your safety."

Previously, premium news reported that the US Department of State has urged Americans to promptly exit more than a dozen Middle Eastern countries, including Israel, amid mounting security concerns linked to the ongoing conflict with Iran.

The State Department reiterated, "We urge Americans to depart now from these countries using available commercial means due to serious safety threats," said Assistant Secretary Mora Namdar on social media.
