American rapper Lil Poppa, whose real name was Janarious Wheeler, has passed away at the age of 25.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner in Georgia verified Wheeler's death on Wednesday, February 18, at approximately 11:20 a.m. local time, as reported by TMZ.
Authorities have indicated that the investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of his death.
Just five days before his passing, on February 13, Lil Poppa released a new track titled "Out of Town Bae."
He was also slated to perform in New Orleans in March for an upcoming show.
Lil Poppa was associated with Yo Gotti's Collective Music Group, known for artists like Grammy-nominated sensation GloRilla.
The talented young artist achieved significant acclaim in 2021 with his hit song "Love & War." In this track, he expresses his feelings for a romantic interest while grappling with his desire to shield her from threats in their surroundings. Additionally, he referenced his song "Blessed, I Guess" in his notable work, highlighting his lyrical depth and the challenges young people face.
