Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has confidently asserted that President Bola Tinubu will achieve a comprehensive victory in the FCT during the presidential election scheduled for 2027. This declaration was made on Wednesday, shortly after Wike reviewed several ongoing construction projects located in the Satellite towns of the FCT.
Wike noted that the president has earned the trust of the populace due to the transformative actions of the current administration.
He remarked, "It is exceedingly challenging for anyone to win an election in the FCT against Mr. President, as the people are astonished by the progress they've witnessed."
Wike attributed this rising support to the government’s strategic initiative to extend development initiatives from the urban centers into rural and satellite communities.
He emphasized, "We have been informed that there is an excessive concentration of development in the urban areas, and it is imperative that we focus on the satellite towns."
The minister expressed his contentment with the pace and quality of the projects underway and highlighted the positive feedback from residents in the inspected communities, which underscores the beneficial effects of the initiatives.
"The joy of the people is evident. When the populace is pleased, it naturally brings happiness to all, including ourselves," he added.
