A young woman has brought to light a deeply personal experience concerning her late mother's church following her demise.

The widower of the deceased had penned a letter to the church, informing them of his wife's passing at the age of 36 and inviting them to participate in her burial rites.

However, their daughter, who was a minor at the time of her mother's death, stated that the church leadership refused to proceed with the funeral service until they were presented with the original record confirming that the mother had been a tithe-payer.

Now an adult, the daughter recounted finding the letter among her mother's belongings. She recalled her father's arduous journeys from their home in the East to Gusau, as the church insisted on seeing the mother's tithe booklet, rejecting a photocopy.

"I was barely 12 and my youngest sister was 18 months old then yet nobody from that church till today checked up on us," she wrote, expressing her disappointment.

She further noted that even after her mother was buried, and they were prevented from attending the funeral, no one from the church considered the absence of her daughters.

The daughter revealed that she only learned the location of her mother's burial site last year.

Reflecting on the events, she stated that while the incident is in the past, she has lost faith in immersing herself completely in any religious practice.

"My mum literally poured herself into that church prayers meetings and church cleaning and everything she was at the forefront," she described her mother's dedication.

"The only reward she got was losing her life in a God forsaken marriage," the woman concluded, expressing her profound sadness and disillusionment.
