The Adamawa State Police Command has taken two individuals into custody concerning the death of a 25-year-old man identified as Friday Isah. The incident, which occurred in the Digil Ward of Mubi North Local Government Area, reportedly took place during a birthday party.
According to a statement released by the command's spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, on Sunday, April 12, 2026, the suspects are accused of stabbing the victim with a knife before fleeing the scene.
"Upon receiving the report, operatives of the command attached to the Mubi North Divisional Headquarters promptly responded, arriving at the location and ensuring the victim was transported to a medical facility for immediate care," the statement indicated.
"Sadly, medical professionals later confirmed the victim had passed away."
The arrested suspects have been identified as Samson Elisha, aged 19, from Giye Digil, and Ayuba Stephen, aged 21, from Dagala Digil, both within Mubi North LGA. The police have stated that an investigation into the matter is currently underway.
CP Kabir Umar Hassan, the Commissioner of Police, expressed his displeasure regarding the incident and has mandated the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the case. He emphasized the need for a thorough investigation and the diligent prosecution of those found culpable.
"The Command reiterates its unwavering dedication to ensuring that justice is served. We urge all residents to uphold the law and to report any suspicious activities without delay to the nearest police station," the statement concluded.
