A key member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Maryam Shetty, has stated that the ruling party is currently engaged in a restructuring process designed to reinforce its internal systems and strategically align itself for upcoming electoral contests.
Shetty, who previously served as a ministerial nominee during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, characterized this change within the party as a move towards adopting a more modern, technocratic approach to leadership.
According to her, the election of Mr. Nentawe Yilwatda as the APC National Chairman marks the beginning of a new chapter for the party.
Shetty further asserted that the party is poised to gain from enhanced unity, clearer strategic objectives, and invigorated grassroots engagement under the present leadership.
She pointed out that Nigeria is in need of a data-driven political leadership grounded in practical governance, noting that Yilwatda’s leadership style has reenergized the party at a pivotal moment.
"As we advance towards the next electoral cycle, his guidance will be vital in fostering internal cohesion and optimizing our readiness for elections," she remarked.
Shetty encouraged party members nationwide to rally behind ongoing efforts to stabilize and reposition the APC for continued significance in the national landscape.
