In announcing the results, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, indicated that the list of candidates was adopted following a motion from party leaders and members.

“When a motion is moved and adopted, it signifies the collective agreement of our leadership and members to accept these names as the consensus candidates for the South-east,” Kalu stated.

Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State characterized the development as evidence of APC’s expanding influence in the South-east, stating, “This confirms that the APC is firmly entrenched in the region, continuing to grow stronger through the commitment of its leaders and members.”

Mbah praised the zonal leadership, national working committee members, and governors from the area for fortifying the party's framework. He also congratulated officials who emerged from previous congresses, emphasizing the need for unity ahead of the national convention.

Additionally, he appreciated President Bola Tinubu for his reform initiatives, asserting that they have set Nigeria on a path toward economic advancement.

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State highlighted that the consensus arrangement aligns with the party's constitution, showcasing internal unity.
