Bayero University (BUK) in Kano has expelled 60 students for suspected involvement in examination wrongdoing. This announcement was made in the university's official bulletin released on Friday.
The expulsion decision was reached during the 431st meeting of the university's senate held on January 7, following recommendations from relevant academic and disciplinary committees.
The senate revealed that the students in question had been found guilty of various types of exam misconduct and were thus recommended for expulsion, adhering to the institution's established rules and guidelines.
According to the announcement, the action aligns with section 20.17 (Ai-xiii) of the General Examinations and Academic Regulations (GEAR) and section 3.4.2 (Ai-xi) of the General Regulations Governing Postgraduate Studies (GRAPS), as applicable.
