Court Imposes 12-Year Jail Term for Rape of Young Girl in Yobe

A Magistrate Court sitting in Injiyaji, Damaturu, has handed down a 12-year prison sentence to Rabilu Sani, a 22-year-old man, for committing the offense of rape against a 4-year-old girl. The crime took place in the Jakusko Local Government Area of Yobe State.

Reports indicate that Sani had enticed the young victim into a room before perpetrating the sexual assault last year. Following an investigation, he was apprehended on November 9, 2025, and subsequently brought before the court.

During the trial, the presiding judge of Magistrate Court 1 found the evidence conclusive and upheld the charge against Sani. He was sentenced to twelve years of incarceration without the alternative of a fine.

Additionally, court proceedings confirmed through further medical examinations that Rabilu Sani does not carry an HIV infection.
