Seinde Signature, a prominent retailer of niche fragrances in Nigeria, has enlisted the talents of Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon for a special stage performance. This collaboration is part of the company's preparations to host renowned international perfumer Sarah Baker for a multi-city launch event in Nigeria.
The partnership underscores the increasing synergy between Nigeria's high-end retail market and the global niche fragrance sector, a market segment characterized by bespoke creations, compelling narratives, and exclusive scents that differ significantly from mass-produced perfumes.
Seinde Signature announced that the event will mark the introduction of two signature fragrances from Ms. Baker into the Nigerian market: Velvet Vendetta and Vava Vanilla. These launches are scheduled to occur across three major Nigerian cities – Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Lagos.
Ms. Baker, who is celebrated for her unique ability to integrate visual arts with perfumery, is slated to make her inaugural visit to Nigeria for this promotional tour.
The itinerary includes an event in Abuja on April 16, followed by Port Harcourt on April 17, and concluding with a major event in Lagos on April 18.
The Lagos event is anticipated to feature a theatrical presentation designed to translate the olfactory and creative inspirations behind the fragrances into a compelling performance. Mr. Okanlawon will reportedly lead a cast of actors in this staged interpretation, reflecting a growing trend in the niche perfumery industry where scent is elevated through storytelling.
During his unveiling, Mr. Okanlawon expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, calling it a significant achievement that positions him at the forefront of Nigerian actors engaging with the global fragrance industry at this level. He cited the brand's impressive expansion, from a single store to over a dozen locations nationwide, as a testament to growing consumer appreciation for luxury and bespoke scents.
