A dramatic video has emerged showing two women engaging in a physical altercation directly over the coffin during a funeral service. The dispute reportedly began when both women realized they had been involved with the same man, whose funeral was taking place.
The incident occurred at a wake in Veracruz, Mexico, according to reports. Tensions flared when one woman was overheard expressing her grief by the casket, which reportedly caught the attention of the other woman present.
The viral footage captures the two women tussling and fighting on top of the coffin. During the struggle, the lid of the casket was dislodged, as bystanders could be heard shouting.
At one point in the video, one of the women can be seen grabbing a bouquet of funeral lilies, with the other attempting to reclaim it, leading to further conflict.
Eventually, an individual dressed in black intervened, grabbing one of the women by the shoulder in an effort to de-escalate and end the fight.
The video of the unusual funeral disruption has circulated widely online.
