The Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umaru Radda, has sanctioned the inclusion of Bakori Local Government Area in the upcoming construction of a dual carriageway scheduled for the 2026 financial year. This decision is prompted by escalating traffic congestion and transportation difficulties within the locality, and the governor emphasized that the new road will facilitate better mobility, enhance road safety, and foster economic growth in Bakori and nearby areas.

Governor Radda made this announcement today while hosting key stakeholders from Bakori LGA who paid a courtesy visit to the Government House in Katsina. The delegation was headed by Abubakar Musa Barde, Chairperson of the Bakori Local Government Council.

"Our administration is focused on addressing infrastructure deficits across Katsina State. The inclusion of Bakori in the dual carriageway initiative is a result of a thorough evaluation of traffic demands and a commitment towards promoting economic progress in the region," stated Governor Radda. He noted that this initiative aligns with his administration's objective of ensuring equitable development throughout the various local government areas.

The governor further remarked, “We are committed to ensuring no section of Katsina State is overlooked. Strategic infrastructure projects like this are vital for improving livelihoods, enhancing commercial activities, and better connecting our communities."

Radda assured the delegation that he would consider other requests raised regarding infrastructure advancements and project completions, based on available resources and government priorities.

He also called on stakeholders to reinforce unity and collaborative efforts within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bakori, emphasizing that internal synergy is crucial for long-term development and political stability.

In addition, he encouraged party leaders to enhance awareness and prompt APC members to update their registrations, underlining that a robust membership base is essential for the party's strength.

Earlier, Chairperson of Bakori LGA, Mr. Musa Barde, expressed gratitude to Governor Radda on behalf of the people for the multiple development projects executed in the area during his tenure. Professor Ahmed Mohammed Bakori, leader of the Bakori Stakeholders group, urged the state government to consider the establishment of a general hospital in the area to meet the healthcare needs of residents who currently have to seek services in other local governments.

Mr. Bakori also advocated for the construction and rehabilitation of significant roads in the local government area, particularly highlighting the need to dualize the township road and to asphalt the Tashar Madalla–Guga–Kandarawa road.

Moreover, Abdulrahman Kandarawa, the representative of Bakori in the State House of Assembly, brought the governor's attention to the poor condition of the Bakori–Guga–Kakumi road, requesting prompt government intervention.
