The prosecution stated that Auwal was caught in the act of stealing iron rods from the construction site of the Tal’adu Bridge in the Gwale Local Government Area.

The defendant did not contest the charges during the court proceedings.

In his ruling, Judge Shamsuddeen Ado Abdullahi Unguwar Gini mandated that Auwal endure 50 strokes of a cane in addition to his six-month community service.

Furthermore, the judge instructed that Auwal study Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) with supervision from Audu Dan Hajiya, who is a court official, as part of his rehabilitation process.
