Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have successfully apprehended three individuals suspected of engaging in robbery within the Idimu area of Lagos State. During the operation, a Bajaj motorcycle and several other items believed to be connected to their alleged criminal undertakings were seized.
The arrests were made as a result of a targeted operation carried out by police officers who had received reliable intelligence regarding a syndicate involved in robberies in the Idimu locality.
The individuals taken into custody have been identified as Abdullahi Mustapha, aged 20, Salisu Sannusi, aged 30, and Jamiu Sahidu, aged 26.
According to police information, these suspects had been reportedly preying on residents, dispossessing them of their valuables prior to their apprehension.
The recovered items include a Bajaj motorcycle, suspected to be stolen, along with other evidence associated with their alleged illicit activities.
Confirming the development, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, stated that the arrest aligns with the Command's ongoing commitment to combating crime throughout the state.
"In the early hours of Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Command operatives on patrol duties along Car Wash Bus-Stop by First Bank, in the Idimu area of the state, intercepted three persons on a motorcycle," Adebisi stated.
She added, "A search conducted on the suspects led to the discovery of a machete concealed within their attire, an army camouflage uniform, four mobile phones, a power bank, believed to have been unlawfully obtained, some crumpled naira notes, and a Bajaj motorcycle bearing the registration number AKD 40 OM, which is reportedly used to facilitate their criminal operations."
