Initially, the talented goalkeeper had been suspended for three months by the club’s disciplinary committee after being accused of match-fixing due to a series of errors during games.

However, after the completion of a preliminary investigation, the club confirmed that there were no signs of any illicit activities on Obasogie's part. The club emphasized that the concerns raised stemmed from technical mistakes that occurred during matches.

In the statement, it was revealed, "Following the preliminary investigation, and based on the player's defense alongside a credible account from the Club’s General Manager, it was concluded that no proof exists to suggest match-fixing or gambling by the player. The events in question have been identified as technical errors during play."

Furthermore, the club noted that Obasogie has expressed remorse for his performance and that the three-month suspension has been lifted, allowing him to return to his responsibilities with the team.

"In light of these developments, the Club has opted to rescind its earlier decision to suspend the player for three months, enabling him to resume his role within the team," the statement detailed.

Obasogie has been a member of the Singida Black Stars for a year, previously transferring from the Ethiopian League.
