Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, has officially denied any participation in an alleged scheme to remove Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State from office. He characterized the reports as inaccurate and misleading.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Chief Adeola Oloko, the respected monarch advised against involving the Olubadan throne in contentious political matters.
Oba Ladoja pointed out the illogical nature of suggesting that a traditional leader could possess the constitutional authority to impeach a sitting governor. He further clarified that even a local government chairman cannot be removed by any traditional ruler.
The Olubadan reaffirmed his dedication to upholding the dignity of the traditional institution. He urged political figures in the state to cease involving the revered stool in partisan disputes.
