Chioma Igbojekwe, publicly recognized as Omapitch, has issued a response to baseless allegations suggesting her involvement in the passing of Ifunanya Nwangene, also known as Nanyah Music.
Nanyah, who was a prominent soprano singer with the Abuja Metropolitan Music Society (AMEMUSO) Choir, died earlier this year following a snake bite that occurred in an Abuja hospital.
Recently, Paschal Nworgu Ternor, a fellow chorister from AMEMUSO, shared videos on social media featuring himself and Omapitch during a performance in Port Harcourt. These posts led to a backlash in the comment sections.
Several Facebook users directed accusations at Omapitch, claiming she orchestrated the snake attack that led to Nanyah's death to secure her position in the choir.
In response to one of the accusers, Omapitch directly addressed the slander, stating, "Uduak Essien U WILL ANSWER ME when I call u! U just accused me of MURD£R! I will call u. AND U WILL ANSWER."
Additionally, Paschal Ternor faced criticism from some users for what they perceived as his swiftness in featuring a replacement for Nanyah.
Ternor responded to these criticisms with sarcasm, posting images of himself with four other female choristers. He captioned the post, "You see all these ladies? They all connived to replace Ifunanya. They are wick*d and ev!l."
