Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has publicly declared his endorsement for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's quest for a second term in the 2027 general elections, stating that he has no reservations about this stance.

Speaking during a television interview in Awka, Governor Soludo referred to President Tinubu as a friend and a trusted ally, advising other individuals aspiring to the presidency to reconsider their ambitions.

He also revealed that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) would refrain from fielding a presidential candidate in the 2027 polls.

"Tinubu is my friend, and I want him to win a second term. I am unapologetic about that," Soludo stated.

The governor highlighted that this position mirrors APGA's strategy in the 2023 elections, where the party did not field a presidential contender but instead backed the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Soludo asserted that this decision should not be interpreted as working against the party's interests but rather as a deliberate collaboration aimed at advancing governance and development.

He further mentioned that his administration has maintained a productive working relationship with the federal government, noting President Tinubu's consistent support for Anambra State since assuming office in 2023.

According to Soludo, APGA's primary focus remains on consolidating its influence at the state and regional levels, while supporting a presidential candidate perceived as capable of effective national leadership.
