The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has publicly expressed its heartfelt shock and sorrow over the unexpected passing of its newly appointed Assistant Publicity Secretary, Mr. Karamo Yesiro.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mr. Yesiro passed away only one day after being re-elected as the Assistant Publicity Secretary at the Lagos State APC Congress conducted at Onikan Stadium.

Mr. Yesiro was slated to join the newly elected Lagos State APC executives, who were scheduled to be inaugurated at the party's secretariat on Thursday.

Seye Oladejo, the party's spokesperson, released a statement on Wednesday in Lagos, denouncing Yesiro's death as both painful and tragic.

He noted that the late leader's death occurred soon after he had been assigned the significant responsibility of serving on the State Executive Council.

"The Lagos State Chapter of the APC has received with profound shock and deep sorrow the news of the sudden demise of our newly elected Assistant Publicity Secretary, Hon. Karamo Yesiro. His death arrived at a moment when his energy, dedication, and commitment were crucial for our cause,” Mr. Oladejo remarked.

The statement emphasized that although Yesiro’s tenure was regrettably brief, he made a notable impact on his colleagues and fellow party members.

"His enthusiasm, humility, and willingness to serve made a lasting impression on both colleagues and party members. He was a key figure whose contributions to the APC's development and stability in Lagos State will be remembered," he added.

The party has conveyed its deepest sympathies to the bereaved family, political associates, friends, and supporters. "On behalf of the leadership and all members of the Lagos APC, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, political associates, friends, and supporters during this trying time. We pray for strength for his family to cope with this profound loss and that his soul finds eternal rest," stated Mr. Oladejo.

He concluded that the party stands together in mourning the departure of the late Assistant Publicity Secretary, affirming that Mr. Karamo Yesiro would forever be remembered for his service and commitment to the progressive movement. May he rest in peace.
