It appears that yet another child of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has opted to drop the 'Pitt' surname.
Maddox Jolie-Pitt, their eldest son, has chosen to omit 'Pitt' from his last name in the credits of his latest project, which he worked on alongside his mother.
The 24-year-old served as an assistant director for the newly released film "Couture," which features Angelina in the lead role as Maxine Walker, a woman grappling with a breast cancer diagnosis whose life intertwines with that of two other women during Paris Fashion Week.
When the film premiered in French cinemas on Wednesday, February 25, Maddox was credited simply as "Maddox Jolie," as reported by People.
In contrast, his name was listed as Maddox Jolie-Pitt in the credits of the film "Maria," released in 2024, where Angelina portrayed the iconic opera singer Maria Callas.
Now, he has opted to exclude 'Pitt' from his name altogether.
Angelina Jolie, 50, shares five other children with her ex-husband Brad Pitt. Their children include Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 19, and 17-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.
Maddox is not the only one in the family to make this change. Zahara also decided to drop 'Pitt' during her induction into the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated at Spelman College in Atlanta in 2023.
During that event, she introduced herself as "Zahara Marley Jolie."
Additionally, in 2024, Shiloh, who is the biological child of Brad Pitt, also removed her father's surname, appearing as "Vivienne Jolie" in the Playbill for "The Outsiders," a Broadway production she helped her mother produce.
A source shared with People that Brad, 62, was informed and upset about Shiloh's decision to drop his last name.
"He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped his last name. He’s never felt more joy than when she was born. He always wanted a daughter," the insider revealed at the time.
"The reminders that he’s lost his children, are of course not easy for Brad. He loves his children and misses them. It’s very sad."
