Anja Ringgren Love, a Danish humanitarian, has posted a video illustrating the remarkable transformation of a young boy named Israel, whom she rescued from the streets of Akwa Ibom.
The video, shared on Sunday, March 22, features footage from the day of Israel's rescue in 2024 and a subsequent clip from February 18, 2026, showing the pair during a stroll at their orphanage.
Love, a mother of one, previously reported experiencing a violent incident involving her team shortly after the outing with Israel, revealing that the attack took place just two hours afterward.
In her post, Love imparted a message of kindness, stating, “Be a good person. Just be kind and good to people. This is what I tell my son every day. It seems like the easiest thing to be. Good and kind.”
She lamented that the world is filled with negative emotions and recounted a harrowing experience of being threatened just a month prior. “I have witnessed hate that almost got me killed,” she wrote. “I still struggle to understand.”
Quoting a well-known saying, Love added, “Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”
In her heartfelt video, Love detailed the rescue of Israel in 2024 and their stroll through the Land of Hope on February 18, 2026, before mentioning the terrifying turn of events that followed.
She described the incident where she was taken hostage and her staff, a child under their care, and security personnel were forcibly removed from their bus by a violent mob, enduring severe beatings.
“For over an hour during my captivity, I was told repeatedly that I would not survive the day,” she recounted. “One of my team members, who was nearly beaten to death, helped rescue Israel alongside me that day. However, I still choose kindness.”
