A Nigerian national, identified as Oluwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, faces murder charges in connection with the death of 21-year-old film student Finbar Sullivan in the United Kingdom. Sullivan was discovered with stab wounds near the viewing area at Primrose Hill, a popular north London location, on Tuesday.
Authorities report that Ogunyankinnu, aged 27, residing in Enfield, was apprehended on Friday, April 10. He was subsequently charged with murder on Sunday, April 12. Ogunyankinnu is expected to appear before Stratford Magistrates' Court on Monday.
A 25-year-old man who was initially arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has since been released from custody without further action. The Metropolitan Police have indicated that their investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Finbar Sullivan was a student at the London Screen Academy. His father, Chris Sullivan, 65, told BBC London that he had lost his only son, fondly known as Fin, describing him as the "light" and "leader" among his friends and someone universally loved by their parents.
In a separate but related incident, officers found another man, in his 20s, with stab injuries on nearby Regent's Park Road on the same Tuesday. He was transported to a hospital, where his injuries were determined to be neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
