Funeral Arrangements for Late Evangelist Uma Ukpai Announced by Family

The family of Uma Ukpai, a prominent Nigerian evangelist who passed away on October 6, 2025, has disclosed the details for his burial. The arrangements outline several events honoring his legacy, commencing on March 8, 2026.

The family of the late renowned Nigerian evangelist, Uma Ukpai, has officially announced the burial plans for the influential preacher, recognized as a pioneer of Pentecostalism in Nigeria.

This information was communicated through a post on the late evangelist's official Facebook account on Wednesday.

As per the released schedule, the mourning activities will initiate on March 8 with the establishment of a mourning house at his residence situated in Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

On March 14, a medical outreach and welfare program is set to take place at Nkek Village within the Ukanafun Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

A Service of Honour is planned for March 18 at 4 p.m. at the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association located on Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo.

Additionally, on March 20, the Akwa Ibom State Government intends to conduct a commendation service to honor the deceased cleric at the International Worship Centre in Uyo, starting at 4 p.m.

Further events will transition to Abia State, culminating in another medical outreach program on March 24 at Asaga, Ohafia, which is his hometown.

A state burial service is scheduled for March 26 at 6 a.m. at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, followed by a service of songs and tribute that evening at 6 p.m. in Asaga, Ohafia.

Interment is planned for March 27 at 10 a.m. in Asaga, Ohafia.

Uma Ukpai, founder and president of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association based in Uyo, passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80. He was widely celebrated for his passionate evangelism and extensive crusades throughout Nigeria and beyond, dedicating over sixty years to ministry, humanitarian efforts, and fostering unity within the Christian community.
