The Iranian Foreign Ministry has leveled accusations against the United States and Israel, claiming that both nations have engaged in war crimes by intentionally targeting civilian infrastructure.
According to Iran, over 160 students lost their lives during an airstrike on a girls' school in Minab on the initial day of the conflict. The ministry has also reported that a hospital in Tehran was hit in attacks.
Esmaeil Baqaei, the spokesperson for the foreign ministry, addressed the situation on social media platform X, highlighting that these incidents occurred despite the aggressors’ assertions of utilizing advanced military equipment and precision-targeting capabilities.
Baqaei stated, "The intentional assault on and destruction of civilian structures, including medical facilities, schools, and media outlets, by the US and Israel is aimed at paralyzing civilian life and amounts to clear war crimes and crimes against humanity."
Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, indicated on Monday that efforts were underway to confirm the situation regarding the Gandhi Hospital in Tehran.
Regarding the airstrike on the school, Tim Hawkins, a spokesperson for the US Central Command, acknowledged awareness of reports of civilian casualties from ongoing military actions, emphasizing that these reports are being taken seriously and are under investigation.
