Authorities at the Nigeria Police Force, Zone 2 headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, have successfully detained seven individuals believed to be responsible for a series of violent crimes. These include multiple murders, armed robberies, theft, cult-related activities, illegal possession of firearms, and criminal conspiracy within Lagos.
The operation was initiated after detectives from the Zonal Intelligence Department (ZID) received crucial intelligence. This led to the capture of Fawas Opeyemi Alarape, a 23-year-old male known as Karube, on March 3, 2026.
Subsequent investigations and information provided by Alarape prompted a police raid on a criminal den referred to as “Lion’s Den” in Orile Iganmu, Lagos. This raid resulted in the arrest of five more suspects. An additional suspect was apprehended in the White Sand area, also in Orile Iganmu.
The individuals identified are Soliu Ahmed (23 years old, alias Tinko butcher man), Oluwaseun Bolarinwa (26 years old, alias Porta), Bamidele Mustapha (33 years old, alias Mentor), Abass Abideen (22 years old, alias Omo Olomo), Salisu Ali (24 years old, alias Omo Hausa), and Atanda Lukmon (30 years old, alias Bansa).
During the apprehension and subsequent searches, the police recovered one locally manufactured shotgun, four cutlasses, a knife, a claw hammer, four live cartridges, three spent cartridges, and various items believed to be charms.
During interrogation, Fawas Opeyemi Alarape reportedly confessed to participating in the killing of Ikujowolo, a tricycle rider, near Shitta under bridge in Surulere, Lagos. The victim was allegedly robbed of his tricycle before being shot dead.
Alarape further stated that the incident was carried out with an accomplice, Ahmed Oladele, also known as “Small Messi,” who is still at large. He also implicated Mustapha Bamidele, Bolarinwa Oluwaseun, and Soliu Ahmed in the attack.
The arrested suspects have also confessed to the killings of Olumide Adegbite (40 years old, alias Okoro) on February 14, 2026, Kehinde Shuaibu (37 years old) and Monday Okoro (35 years old) on February 18, 2026, all within the Orile Iganmu area of Lagos.
All suspects are currently in police custody and are cooperating with investigators. Once the investigations are concluded, they will face charges related to multiple homicides, armed robbery, theft, cultism, illegal firearm possession, and criminal conspiracy.
The Zonal Command has appealed to the public to remain alert and to continue providing the police with timely and accurate information to aid in combating crime.
