A middle-aged woman, Mrs. Chioma Ogu, tragically lost her life on Monday, March 2, when a truck loaded with chippings collided with her home in Iho, located in the Ikeduru local government area of Imo State.
Her husband suffered severe injuries and remains critically ill in the hospital. Community members reported that Mrs. Ogu, a mother of three, was in the midst of preparing for her late mother’s burial scheduled for the upcoming weekend when the unfortunate incident occurred.
Reports indicate that the truck driver was allegedly asleep at the wheel when he lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road, and crashed into the residential structure.
The accident took place late at night, a time when most residents had already settled in for the evening, with some having gone to bed.
As of now, the state police command has not issued any statements regarding this distressing incident.
